When you can actually see how much two people enjoy being around each other, photographing their wedding becomes effortless. From the moment Brian and Marissa were together, there was constant laughter, little glances, and the kind of joy that couldn’t be staged. Every interaction felt genuine, making it easy to document a wedding day that was full of real emotion instead of forced moments. To make the day even more special, I had the honor of photographing the very first wedding ever held at Spring Lake Estate in Mobile, Alabama. No pressure, right?
Thankfully, this venue absolutely delivered. Nestled among towering trees with a peaceful lake as its backdrop, Spring Lake Estate offers couples the best of both worlds, wide open landscapes for portraits while still feeling intimate and tucked away. Every direction seemed to create another beautiful location, making it a dream venue for timeless wedding photography. Marissa looked incredible in her fitted lace gown with a cathedral-length veil that caught the breeze beautifully throughout the day, while Brian kept things classic in a black vest with rich burgundy accents that perfectly complemented the wedding’s romantic color palette. Deep berry florals added warmth and texture, bringing everything together in a way that felt elegant without losing the relaxed atmosphere they created for their guests. One of my favorite parts of the day was simply watching these two interact. Marissa spent the entire day laughing at Brian, and he never stopped smiling back. Those are the moments I love documenting most, the ones that remind couples years later exactly how it felt to be together on their wedding day.
As a photographer, there’s something exciting about walking into a brand-new venue with fresh eyes. Every wedding creates an opportunity to discover new light, new perspectives, and new ways to tell a story. Spring Lake Estate made that incredibly easy, and I already can’t wait to photograph another celebration there. Brian and Marissa, thank you for trusting me to document the beginning of your marriage. It was such an honor to be part of the very first chapter in what I know will be many beautiful weddings at Spring Lake Estate.
