When people look back on their photographs years from now, I don’t want them to remember how nervous they were in front of the camera. I want them to remember how they felt….
Photography is deeply personal…and honestly? Very political. You’re inviting someone into some of the most meaningful moments of your life, and that kind of trust should never come with conditions.Being part of this industry is a choice, and every day I choose to love & support everyone. My goal has always been to create a space where people can show up exactly as they are, love who they love, and feel completely comfortable doing so. Whether you’re celebrating a wedding, an engagement, growing your family, or simply documenting a season of life, you deserve to feel seen, respected, and welcomed from the very first conversation. And why do I believe this is political? because you don’t deserve a space in someone else’s world if you don’t stand in solidarity with them. I said what I said.
Comfort is one of the most important parts of the experience I provide. Beautiful photographs aren’t created because I know the right pose or own the right camera ( even though I ALWAYS DO) They’re created when people feel safe enough to be themselves… safe enough to open up and be genuine. The laughter that wasn’t planned. The way your partner looks at you when they think nobody is watching. The moments that happen naturally when you’re no longer worried about getting it right. Those are the photographs I care about most. I never want anyone to feel like they have to fit into a mold, explain who they are, or change parts of themselves to be worthy of being documented….. because I first hand know what it’s like to feel like you need to fit into a box, and that’s a feeling no one should ever feel.
As an ally, inclusivity isn’t something I added to my business….it’s woven into the way I approach people, and truly who I am as a person. I believe every story deserves to be treated with kindness, dignity, and genuine care. The couples and families you’ll see throughout my work are a reflection of the community I’m proud to serve, and creating a welcoming experience for all people isn’t just important to me….it’s essential. Everyone deserves to feel like they belong.
One of my favorite things about this job is getting to witness people as they truly are. The quiet moments. The loud moments. The messy, joyful, emotional moments that make up a life together. Those moments don’t belong to one type of couple, one type of family, or one type of person. They belong to all of us. My role isn’t to decide what your story should look like. It’s to document it honestly and beautifully as it unfolds.
Because at the end of the day, the best photographs happen when you feel seen. And there will always be a place for you here.
